Imperfect

I will behave wisely in a perfect way.

Oh, when will You come to me?

I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

Psalm 101:2

David got it.

The desire to come before our King in perfection.

Without spot or blemish.

Keeping our eyes from evil.

Keeping our feet from evil.

Keeping our heart from evil.

But I am prone to wander.

Broken.

Needy.

In need of a Savior.

Imperfect.

How many of us share this desire?

To stand before God, declaring we finally got it right.

We now know how to serve without our invariable flaws.

But patience is a fruit of the spirit.

Even with ourselves.

When we fall short, time and time again.

When we do what we promised not to do.

For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again.

Proverbs 24:16

How about 1000 times?
