Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100:4-5
Thanksgiving and I have always had a close relationship.
Even when I heard things contrary to the day, I held it close to my heart.
When I came to know Christ and took time to legitimately dig into the history of it, as a time to thank God alone, I realized why the day seems overshadowed with confusion.
So while I will take this day to thank God, it will be the first time I can say gratitude fills my heart in a way I didn't know it could.
How can one be grateful, regardless of the circumstances?
How can one worship, in an hour of greatest need?
How can one praise Him, and be surrounded by despair?
Every principle that the LORD established in His word, is often ripe with the reality that it is simple, but hard.
Sure, I can be grateful when things are going right!
But what happens when they are going wrong?
Or have been going wrong for an extended period of time?
Can I see what is right?
Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8
SIMPLE, BUT HARD.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones!
