Forgive and forget?

Is it possible to forgive and forget?

Sure, when it's inconsequential and insignificant.

But what happens when it comes from someone you loved and trusted?

Is it possible?

In Matthew 6:14-15, Jesus models how to pray and follows with these words:

For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (ESV)

I don't know about you, but this is quite the incentive for me.

Simple, and yet not easy.

So, can we just forgive and forget?

Maybe we can't always forget, but we certainly can always forgive.

But what if they keep doing it and saying they are sorry?!

Peter, the Apostle, asked that question too!

Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven." Matthew 18:21-22 (NKJV)

But what about my boundaries?

Great question and only God knows the answer for you.

Exercise wisdom, while also remembering forgiveness is at the core of Faithful Living.

Keep going!
